ADVENT: 4 DAYS

Angels

Luke 2:11-14

“Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Angels are throughout the Bible as cherubim, seraphim, and in other ways. The Bible tells us that angels carry out some of God’s plans and they should NOT be worshiped. All the angels that appear in the Bible are male, and only 2 of them have names — Gabriel, and the archangel Michael. An archangel is an angel that rules over other angels. In the Bible we read that the archangel Michael and Gabriel are angels that are messengers for God.
