This verse in Genesis 15 is part of a covenant that God made with Abraham -long before Moses was born.

Before Moses was born, God had a plan for his life.

Moses’s life story is told in the Books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

God’s people would grow and prosper from Genesis to the Book of Exodus. Joseph was given the land of Goshen in Egypt for his family. They left the promised land and stayed there, and eventually became slaves of Egypt. They lived in slavery in Egypt for 400 years - when, Moses was born. Moses was born a slave, and should have been put to death. Instead, Moses was saved from the Nile River by Pharaoh’s daughter. He grew up in Pharaoh’s Royal Court - the world’s superpower at the time. He was well educated, well cared for, and a skilled fighter.

God had a plan for Moses and His chosen people

God would eventually call Moses out of Pharaoh’s world to free the Israelite slaves from powerful Egypt.

God has a plan for your life too! Big or small - the plan is meaningful and purposeful, and it’s up to you to make a choice about what you want to do.

As we think about the story of Moses and the Jews - let’s remember the 10 Commandments.

The 10 commandments, can help us stay on the right path.

They helped to organize the people of Israel - people who lived as slaves for hundreds of years.

May you WORSHIP GOD, and may GOD be 1st in your life!
